Tumble Bus

We went to our favorite Chickfila in Raleigh (Townridge) one last time before we moved for dinner and to watch some Jump roping teams who were pretty awesome and to let the kids play on the tumble bus. The kids had the bus to themselves for a long time and it was pretty neat. There were ropes to swing on, a trampoline to bounce on,
a "roller-coaster",

and tunnels to climb through

The cow even came to visit the Tumble bus. This Chickfila has the best cows and Davis loves them!

The cow even rode the roller coaster. And I didn't say this before, but it was a really hot day outside and the bus only had a couple of fans - just to put things into perspective for you.

Doughnut Day Take 2

We couldn't celebrate Doughnut Day without Daddy, so that night after supper we headed to the Dunkin Doughnuts down the street for more doughnuts! Good thing it only comes once a year! There were not many doughnuts left, but we found some.

Doughnut Day

Now some of you may not have known this, but June 3rd was National Doughnut Day. To celebrate places like Krispy Kreme and Dunkin' Doughnuts were giving away FREE doughnuts. And anyone who knows me I love things that are free! So, we planned a date with our friends Evan and Claire and Cheryl to get free doughnuts at Krispy Kreme on Peace Street. Cheryl went to State and I went to Meredith, so we both thought it was neat to take our kids to the same Krispy Kreme that we used to go to in college. Here is Maddie ready to go get some doughnuts. She found this hat in her closet and said that she wanted to wear it. I said that was fine, but didn't think she would wear it for long. She wore it most of the day and has actually worn it most of the summer - we got it for her 2 or 3 summers ago!

After the doughnuts we went to a local park so they could run off all of that sugar and then had a picnic lunch. Very fun time celebrating National Doughnut Day.

We had fun spending time with family and friends the weekend of Maddie's gala. It worked out well because Maddie's gala was on Saturday afternoon and then on Sunday night at Providence they had a commissioning service (well part of the service) for us. All of our parents attended the service, Matt's grandparents as well as our friends Jamie and Chad and Jenn from Hickory and Granite Falls. We don't have any pictures from the service but here is a picture of the cake they had for us at a little reception after the service.

Maddie's Gala (Dance Recital)

In early June Maddie had her second Gala (dance recital). Grandma Ruth and Grandpa Russ kept Kallie for us and we took Davis with us this year. Thank you! The theme for Maddie's dance was Chinese takeout - they actually came out from behind big takeout boxes and danced with big fortune cookies. Maddie did very well and we are very proud of her. After the gala we went to ice cream at Dairy Queen - kind of a tradition that started last year but I did not take any pictures. Thank you friends and family who came to share in Maddie's special day. Davis really enjoyed it and could actually find Maddie on the stage when her class danced.
