Caroline Grace

I am still learning how to do the slideshows, so here are a bunch of pictures from Caroline Grace's birth.  Here is a picture of my belly before we went to the hospital - last pregnancy picture ever!  Kind of sad...

Welcome to the world Caroline Grace.  She weighed 6lb 2oz and was 18 inches long.  Because of all of my scar tissue it took them a while to get her out and then to get me all sewn up.

Davis meeting his sister!  (He had fallen off of our playhouse onto his head the Tuesday before Caroline was born - that is the boo boo on his head).  What a great big brother!  He loves holding his little sister.
Maddie meeting Caroline :)  What a big helper she is!

Kallie meeting her sister or in her mind a real live baby doll!

                                                            Good friend Jamie with Caroline.
                                                           Mimi with her 4th grandchild!

                                                          Apple with baby Caroline :)
                                                          Good friends Sarah and Becca
                                                               Best baby-sitter ever Emily :)
                                                                    Babysitter in training?

                                                                   Ready to go home!!!
                                                                 Another Daddy's girl!!

The ride home went very well.

The kids and Mimi and Gaga had decorated the door with pictures and signs welcoming us home.

And they made cookies - were going to go into a cookie bouquet, but the kept falling off of the sticks but we still enjoyed them and thought they were beautiful!!

So excited about our newest addition and getting to know her :)
I realized I do not have any pictures of Gaga or Poppa with Caroline and will have to add those later.

On the Runway

A couple of weeks ago Mom was in town and we were in the children's department in Belk and the cashier asked if Maddie and Davis would be interested in being in a fashion show.  I hesitated and then Maddie came over and said she would like to.  When I asked the cashier how old the kids had to be she said 4 and up.  I told her that Davis was only 3 1/2.  She said she thought he would be fine if I thought he would do okay.  I signed them up and wondered what I had gotten myself into.  I wasn't even sure if the kids were interested.  Well, I began to hear them talking about it and some of the comments I heard were Davis: "Maddie, do you think we are going to rock out this fashion show?"  (cracked me up) and Maddie: "No, Davis, I don't think we are going to dance I think we are going to just walk and show off our clothes."  Maddie would ask me if they got to choose their own clothes or if someone was going to pick out their clothes.  Then they wanted to practice walking and "posing".  It was hilarious and of course I thought everything would be different when they got on the actual stage.  Well, this past Saturday was the fashion show and they were so excited!  When I took them into the dressing room to get dressed they started telling me they were nervous.  I told them that it was fine to be nervous and that I knew they would be great.  Thankfully Maddie liked her outfit and Davis liked his as well, since they had been picked out for them.  They were lined up separately so I was going back and forth between them reassuring them and checking on them.  Matt had Kallie and the camera and video camera :).  Maddie did great and then I went back to be with Davis.  He kept his finger in his mouth and his head down the whole walk up to the stage and I really wasn't sure if he was going to do it or start crying.  I made sure that both of them found their daddy in the crowd before they went on.  Well, as soon as Davis hit the stairs his finger came out of his mouth and his hands went on his hips hamming it up!!  It was precious!  After they were finished we changed them back into their clothes and then there were different games and tables set up with different activities like basketball toss, Chickfila cow and wheel, putt putt golf, bean bag toss, basketball shot, balloon lady and doughnuts :)  The kids had a great time and they both got goody bags for being in the show and we had the opportunity to get a discount, but we didn't do any shopping.  Enjoy the pictures!

Davis with "Armor Man" since he is so into super heroes right now this was great!

Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve we had a devotional with the church and Gaga and Apple joined us and Mimi and Poppa were here in town and able to come as well.  Afterwards we all came back to our house for a spaghetti supper.  We took some family pictures with the kids in their Christmas jammies.

After Gaga and Apple left it was time for Daddy to put together Maddie's new bike and Kallie's stroller.  He had already put together Davis's scooter.

Christmas #2

On the 23rd of December we headed to Charlotte to celebrate with Gaga, Apple, Uncle Adam, Aunt Sommer, and Lucy.  We ate a yummy dinner of pork loin and other yummy sides and a birthday cake for Jesus and then exchanged gifts.  We spent the night and had breakfast and then headed back to Hickory to get ready for our Christmas Eve Service.

Kallie really enjoyed opening gifts this year!
Little people figures from Gaga and Apple - we love Little People!

Gaga got a picture of Baby Lucy!
And of course as all babies Kallie loved the box and tissue paper!

Goodies, Parades and Santa Cow

We bundled up one night and took some goodies to our neighbors. We took oreo balls. Most of them were not home, but we were able to talk to a few.

The kids made it to a couple of parades - actually on the same day - one in Granite Falls and one in Hickory. Matt and the kids met our friends the Rhodes at the parade in Granite and we met our friends the Moseleys for the parade in Hickory. It snowed during the one in Granite and was just cold and wet for the one in Hickory, but they didn't seem to mind. Their favorite part of the parades is running out and getting candy!

We headed out to the mall one night in December for Family Night with Santa Cow - the kids got little goody bags along with a free kids' meal with an adult combo purchase. Kallie was not thrilled with being held by Santa Cow.

And what trip to Chickfila is complete without an ice cream cone?
