Bringing Kallie Home

We came home on Saturday, September 12th. Poppa came by before he went back to Elizabeth City and was able to help Matt carry some things to the car and take pictures. We hadn't had any pictures of Poppa with Kallie, so we took the opportunity.

Kallie all dressed in her "Little Sister" shirt ready to go home.

Ready to go home.

She didn't cry too long the first time in her car seat.

I have pictures of Maddie and Davis riding home in their car seat for the first time and had to get a picture of Kallie riding home in her car seat.

Maddie and Davis were downstairs with Mimi and our friend Jamie when we pulled up, so we decided to take some pictures outside. You can't see them real well, but Maddie is wearing a "Big Sister" shirt and Davis is wearing a "Big Brother" shirt. They were more excited to see baby Kallie home than Mommy and Daddy and that was fine with us!

Maddie and Davis spent a lot of time watching Kallie and bringing her toys and taking turns holding her that first day home. Thought this was a cute picture of Maddie laying down on Kallie's level looking at her.

Davis did not hold Kallie in the hospital, so this was really the first time he had held Kallie. He did really well and would say "hold, hold" when he wanted to hold her again. He would get this big grin on his face when he held her. Somehow I missed it with the camera.
Our friend Jamie from Granite Falls stayed the weekend with us and jumped right in helping Mom and the rest of us with the 3 kids. We had a great time visiting with her.

Great Aunt Lori came to visit and meet Kallie, too! She came over with Gaga on Saturday afternoon and was able to spend time with all 3 kids.

Our 3 blessings :)

More pics of Kallie Lynne

Here are some pictures of Kallie's second day of life. We had kind of a late night last night with Kallie being awake until 3, but then she slept until about 6 and ate pretty good today. She also had some good waketime and naps. The pediatrician came by and said that she looks good. I got my IV and catheter taken out today and was able to go for a couple of walks and take a shower. Maddie and Davis came by with Mimi and Poppa and Gaga came by as well. Maddie held her almost the whole time and Davis was more interested in Kallie today. He showed us her hair and nose and was pretty gentle with her for the most part.

Kallie also had her hearing screening done today and passed. Gaga was there and was able to go with her. She is over children with hearing impairments and cochlear implants in Cabarrus county. We actually have pictures of all 3 children getting their hearing screen done.

Here are a few more pictures of Kallie Lynne from today. We had a late night last night, but she is eating very well and having some good wake time as well as sleep time. The pediatrician came by and said that she looks great. I got rid of my IV and the catheter this morning and took a couple of walks as well as a shower this afternoon. Maddie and Davis came by again today and Maddie held her almost the whole time :) Davis helped try to burp her and showed us her hair and nose and he was gentle. Here are some pictures of our other visitors.

Dr. Harden, the doctor who delivered her, came and checked on us, so I took a quick picture.

Shannon Isenhour, friend from Granite Falls, came by on her way from State back home for the weekend.
Michelle, another friend from Granite, stopped by on her way home for the weekend from Meredith. She and Shannon were riding together. We told them we would hit them up for some babysitting soon :)
Kallie with Great-grandma Ruth. She had been crying, but quieted right down when Grandma Ruth held her.
Great Grandpa Russ didn't want to hold her, but talked to her and looked at her. We had a good visit with them. Thanks for coming!
We had a few other visitors as well, but didn't get any pictures of them with Kallie. We are hoping to go home tomorrow.

We came to the hospital this morning at 8 am and we were in the O.R. before 10:30. All of the nurses in triage were great as well as the doctor and anesthesiologist. Matt and I spent a lot of time laughing before I went back to the OR. I had a lot of scar tissue that the Dr. had to cut through - took about 20 minutes just to get through it. Kallie Lynne Morgan was born (pulled out :) at 10:40 this morning. She weighed 6 lb. 13 oz and was 19 1/2 inches long. She has a head full of hair and has been nursing very well so far. I am doing well - just hungry since I am on an all liquid diet today and actually got sick a couple of times. Kallie has a head full of hair and is so sweet! Gaga got to come and spend lots of time with us today :) Mimi and Poppa came about 5 after Maddie and Davis napped and brought the kids. Maddie is so excited and loves to hold her. She is very protective and does really well with her. She is going to be such a great help and big sister to Kallie Lynne. Davis saw her and would say baby and looked for her a couple of times, but seemed more interested in the bed and buttons and wrestling with his Daddy. Our friends Mike and Amy stopped by tonight to come meet her and took turns coming in since their little boy, Luke wasn't old enough to come back. Apple Tom also came to meet her tonight :) Here are some pictures for you to enjoy.

Fourth of July in Myrtle Beach Day 1

We went to see Matt's dad who Davis started calling "G-Daddy" in Myrtle Beach from July 1st through the 4th. We got in late on Wednesday night and then had a full first day on Thursday. We ate breakfast at G-Daddy's and then headed to the beach. Maddie has become quite the beach bum and loves to play in the water as well as the sand. Davis seemed to prefer the wet sand and was still a little cautious in the water. He enjoyed watching the airplanes fly over pulling signs and watching the parasailers.

Amy at about 29 weeks.

Maddie even made a friend while we were at the beach. She just went over and started talking to this little girl and just kind of held her hand and started playing.

They spent a lot of time pulling each other around on this boogie board in pretty shallow water.

Had to get a picture of the 2 of them. We talked to her parents and thought that we would see them out again the next day, but we did not see her anymore while we were there.
After the beach we headed back to G-Daddy's for lunch and naps. For dinner we went to Phillips Seafood. The following is a picture of Maddie and Davis in front of the restaurant.

After dinner we went across the street to Broadway and walked around. Maddie even got to ride her first amusement ride by herself!

Showing that she is tall enough.

Maybe a little nervous? Biting her nails like her mommy. She was much more confident when another little girl got in the airplane with her in the other seat.

There she goes! She had a lot of fun!

Maddie, G-Daddy, and Davis in the Disney store - spent a lot of time just looking around in here.

They are sitting in a chair shaped like a hand.

They enjoyed climbing on the dinosaurs and there was even a playground that they played on for a little while.
