Doughnut Day

Now some of you may not have known this, but June 3rd was National Doughnut Day. To celebrate places like Krispy Kreme and Dunkin' Doughnuts were giving away FREE doughnuts. And anyone who knows me I love things that are free! So, we planned a date with our friends Evan and Claire and Cheryl to get free doughnuts at Krispy Kreme on Peace Street. Cheryl went to State and I went to Meredith, so we both thought it was neat to take our kids to the same Krispy Kreme that we used to go to in college. Here is Maddie ready to go get some doughnuts. She found this hat in her closet and said that she wanted to wear it. I said that was fine, but didn't think she would wear it for long. She wore it most of the day and has actually worn it most of the summer - we got it for her 2 or 3 summers ago!

Watching the doughnuts being made.

Picking out which doughnut they are going to get for free. They could choose whichever one they wanted.

Decisions, decisions
They all ended up choosing chocolate frosted with sprinkles :)

Doughnuts are so much better with friends.

After they ate their doughnuts one of the workers came around with paper hats for all of the kids. Here is Evan helping Baby Kallie with hers.

After the doughnuts we went to a local park so they could run off all of that sugar and then had a picnic lunch. Very fun time celebrating National Doughnut Day.
