Stars & Stripes

For the 4th of July we went over to some friends' beautiful lake house and enjoyed a day on the lake and some yummy food! At dusk we had a flag retiring ceremony - this has become a tradition and it is really neat!
Pictures of Kallie taken by a friend

What a ham! He had a great time swimming and playing with Levi and Levi's toys.

Maddie with Sally making icees and popsicles - they did this off and on all day. Maddie enjoyed swimming and playing as well.
Davis with Kim-Kim (what Maddie has called her since she could say her name) eating a yummy hot dog and some other food.

Here is a picture of all of the "kids" (under 21) who were there. Emily (best babysitter EVER!!) is holding Maddie and Kallie! I didn't get any pictures of all of the adults - but there were a ton of people!
Ms. independent - she is growing up!!

The younger kids were paired with the older ones. Each pair read about the 13 colonies and put a stripe on the fire. Davis did not participate. Here is Maddie with Levi - he was born the October before Maddie.
Todd explaining what to do.
Matt participated as well.
Ms. Helen saying how much it means to her that they do this each year and the importance of passing on the importance of our freedom and country's history to our children.
